But rather what we’re capable of when we least expect it.

So at my old high school, earlier this year, a popular senior died in a car crash. The whole school flipped, they all wore blue the next day(her favorite color), they got her name trending on twitter, they had about a week of cerimonies in her honor, they gave her plaques all around the school, they dedicated a few pages in the yearbook to her, all arranged by the school. The school was in distress. This sunday, a not so popular sophomore committed suicide. Today (two days after), they made an announcement on the intercom and gave him 30 seconds of silence. No cerimonies. No trends. No “turn the school green”. Nothing. In fact, they left him out of the yearbook completely. All the students are simply saying it didn’t cause an uproar because he didn’t have friends and he committed suicide. If he wanted to die, why would they care? That is so so SO fucking fucked up. Tyler, you don’t deserve silence. You deserve and uproar. You were an amazing person, you were never anything but nice to anyone. Suicide is a serious problem among our generation, it’s amazing how ignorant and disrespectful some people can be. Honestly, with the way his schoolmates reacted, I can’t blame him for being so upset. If they don’t give you what you deserve, hopefully we can.
RIP Tyler Dye. I’ll be wearing my green tomorrow.
Please reblog, out of respect. We owe this to him.
